Rolling once again, hopefully my viewership is still around!

Well,

The month of October was hectic. Birthdays, bottles of scotch, traveling, and learning that apparently the new norm is only one space after a period.

Now I am approximately 11 days sober, fifty pages further in my own manuscript, and slowly getting used to only using one space.

So, let’s resume tweeting a novel again. I feel that now may be a good time to recap the story, thus far, complete with re-done spacing. So here is where we left off:

Darle ripped the filter off a Virginia Slim and placed it carefully between her emerald lips, lighting it with a pink Bic. She tapped the lighter against her purse twice for luck and tossed it inside, exhaling a cloud of smoke into the dark. Met with a familiar question of whether or not she had missed the last bus of the night, she decided to walk. It wasn’t the distance that bothered her, but the number of steps home; each of which precipitated another bad memory.

Like a wil-o-the-wisp, her thoughts would dart from memory to memory. No walk was the same, but they were always similar. Each alley held a similar story of abuse, substance or otherwise, and each stairwell held a certain longing.

We are six lines into the story. Submissions for line number seven will be open for a little while, just so people can get back into the habit, like that first cigarette after a period of quitting, taking in the smoke long and slow.

Send your submissions for line seven to:

Let the tweeting begin!

Blaine.
